Super Minimalist Preparation
* Dried Peruvian Torch or San Pedro
* Coffee Grinder
Dry out Peruvian Torch or San Pedro slices. Grind in coffee grinder into a powder. Eat about 1-3 tablespoons of the powder, chase with grapefruit juice or beverage of your choice. Wait. Effects can take up to 2-3 hours to kick in, so be patient!
Basic Alcohol Extraction
(Very easy and greatly reduces nausea)
* Dried Peruvian Torch/San Pedro Slices/Chips
* Everclear 99% Alcohol (Use Everclear if you have the option) or Isopropyl Alcohol 90% (better make sure its completely evaporated)
* Coffee Grinder
* Mason Jar
* Panty hose (T-shirt, or cheese cloth works too)
* Pyrex Dish
Measure out a dose of dried Peruvian Torch. Grind the dried slices in a coffee grinder until it becomes a powder. Make sure it doesn't overheat. Pour contents in mason jar. Fill mason jar with alcohol, at least twice as much alcohol as the dried cactus. Shake. Let sit for 24 hours shaking the mixture frequently every couple of hours.
At the end of the 24 hours the mixture should be a very dark green color. Now it is time to strain the cactus from the alcohol. Take out the pyrex dish. Pour the contents from the mason jar into the panty hose over the pyrex dish. Squeeze the panty hose until you drained most of the alcohol from the cactus material. Save the remaining cactus. Put that aside for now.
Get a fan and keep it blowing over the pyrex dish until all the alcohol is evaporated.
Take the remaining cactus, put it an empty mason jar. Fill the jar up with more alcohol. Let it sit for another 24 hours, shaking it occasionally.
Strain it again. Put the mush aside. Add this liquid to the same pyrex dish from the last bath. Stir it up with the other contents. Evaporate it.
Add the mush to new alcohol bath, and repeat the procedure above until all the alkaloids are extracted. When the liquid is clear yellow green color then all the alkaloids are extracted. When the alkaloids are extracted discard the powder mush.
When everything is completely done evaporating you should be left with a gummy tar. It will be very bitter.
If you did use isopropyl alcohol you better be sure that you completely evaporated all the alcohol from the tar. There should be no water left in it and it should NOT smell like isopropyl alcohol when you are done. Keep in mind that you stop smelling isopropyl alcohol after 5-10 minutes of exposure. Be careful with the alcohol fumes you will want to do this in a well ventilated area or preferably outside. I do not recommend adding a heating element as it could potentially ignite the fumes and destroy some of the goodies. If you do add a heating element I would do so towards the end when it is mostly dry, to make sure that you evaporated everything. Mescaline is somewhat more forgiving when it comes to heat exposure but try to keep the temperature below 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Some people suggest putting the pyrex dish over a pot of boiling water towards the end to dry it out completely (using an electric stove NOT a gas stove).
When you are all done scrape the remaining tar off the pyrex dish. It will be very sticky you can add flour or crushed up TUMS to decrease the stickiness so you can roll it into a ball. When you are ready to eat it roll it into tiny balls and eat it or dissolve it into a beverage. Its better to not swallow large whole balls as they tend to just sit around in your stomach.
It make take up to 3 hours for the effects to fully kick in.
